Front door is in!

New front door Originally uploaded by merideth.
Okay, so remember when we bought this door? Like months ago? The amazing $200, solid doug fir, ebay door? Yeah, well it's even more amazing now that it's installed. I love the entry set so much i want to marry it. Except that i'm already married. To an actual person. Annnnnyyyway. The door is in but as yet unfinished. We went to Rockler (amazing store for all your woodworking needs) today and got loads of advice, instruction, and the correct products for getting the new door stained, varnished, and sealed. So maybe by next weekend we'll have a photo of the finshed product. But for now....man it looks good!

Mom and Stevie think that the new door is awesome and that you girls are amazing! The stucco is so totally better than the siding..........

What a great ebay find - your entryway looks perfect. Love the light fixture too. I bet you'll be the envy of all your neighbors. Don't flirt with it too much though, you don't want Beth getting jealous. ;)

Your door is a find all right. Maybe Jeanne over at house in progress should surf some Ebay. We have a lovely oak door with leaded glass down below in the basement that I'd like to see restored but it will probably have to be replaced because of water damage (this is the PNW after all). Typing with all eleven fingers again. Its been a long coupla weeks ;)
